My 28-year odyssey through Germany was akin to an epic gourmet tour, where each course was a triumph – until dessert. Imagine: A top-class menu culminating in a lemon tart. Full of anticipation, you take a bite, only to find its taste is more bitter than the reality of a failed marriage counseling. This culinary derailment, served up by my husband and the accomplices from my law firm – a firm I had built from the ruins of his professional failures – marked the beginning of an involuntary diet of grief and pain.
As if that challenge wasn’t enough, the support in Germany, my former home, proved to be as insufficient as soup on a diet. Yet, in every lemon lies the potential for lemonade – or in my case, for a divorce with a twist.
Instead of succumbing to bitterness, my life became an adventurous pilgrimage of self-discovery, taking me across Europe, through Australia, to the shores of the Nile in Egypt. In this land of pharaohs, I found not just a new home but also a new purpose. Egypt’s boundless humanity and generosity were more soothing than any heartbreak tea.
Ironically, fate led me from the darkest shadows of my life directly into the radiant light of Egypt.
Now, armed with a suitcase full of experiences from the USA, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and Europe, and a heart full of stories, I am ready to share my knowledge and passion with the world. Egyptdiscovering.com is more than a business venture; it is the manifesto of my journey, an invitation to experience Egypt through the eyes of a woman who has learned that even the bitterest lemon can become a sweet experience in the right environment.
It’s as if I’ve unlocked a secret level in the game of life, full of ancient treasures and the life-giving Nile, which nourishes my existence with more than just water.
